Therapeutic Writing Exercises For Our Yom Kippur
Concrete tools to help us connect with ourselves.
Yom Kippur is this week.
I made some therapeutic writing exercises and a pretty graphic of Rambam’s four steps of teshuva to help prepare for Yom Kippur.
On Yom Kippur we are asked to get quiet, reflect, restrain from the most basic worldly activities like eating, and pray. The holiday is an opportunity to look inside ourselves and think about how we’d like to begin this new Jewish year.
The prompts presented are intended to help us prepare ahead of time for this singular day. A quite moment to stop and reflect in the best way you can so you can reevaluate where you are “missing your mark”.
The graphic of Rambam’s four steps of teshuva can be used to help us visually and mentally focus on what we are asked to do. Step #3 is the most important for me. Which step speaks most to you?
My hope is that this guide + graphic are supportive and concrete tools that you can use as you prepare for Yom Kippur.
May you have an easy fast,
Kenden
