I made a new illustration of one of my favorite lines from Song of Songs: “I am my beloved’s and my beloved is mine” (Shir HaShirim / Song of Songs 6:3
The print includes the line in both Hebrew and English, set against a soft, minimalist wash and clean typography so the words sit quietly at the center of a room.
A little about the text
This short line comes from Song of Songs, a book traditionally attributed to Solomon. For centuries Jewish readers have understood the poem as more than romantic verse — it’s also an allegory of the loving covenant between God and Israel, which is why these lines appear in wedding rituals, Passover readings, and liturgy.
Christian interpreters have likewise found in the poem a language for the relationship between Christ and the Church. The line endures because it speaks simply and deeply about belonging, fidelity, and devotion — whether read as human love, divine love, or both.
